Every year, approximately 20 percent of women in the United States deliver babies through the cesarean section – some of which through classic cesarean, others through live cesarean, etc. Every pregnant woman regardless of how simple her pregnancy faces the possibility of delivering through incision even if normal delivery was the initial recommendation. While yes, we all avoid to choose cesarean and opt for vaginal births instead, it is very necessary for every women to understand and keep herself aware on how exactly the procedure occurs. Why choose cesarean?

Complications are the most common reasons why a cesarean birth may be chosen. These complications may have developed during your pregnancy. In other cases, these are brought about by individual medical conditions of the mother prior to her pregnancy. This may include heart problems, blood pressure and the like. If the baby is big enough making it impossible for him to be delivered through the vagina, an operation may be opted.  At some point, your will be given a sedative. In some cases, the sedative may have an mild effect on your memory. However, it keeps you focus and calm throughout the surgery.

 Your doctor check you one last time trying to go over for possible risks. He will then discuss the procedure with you. Some hospitals may ask you to sign a document indicating that you acknowledge the risks. Don't worry, your partner or guardian may be given the chance to be with you inside the operating room throughout the surgery.

 During the surgery, a curtain will be raised over your mid section with your arms outstretched in order for your nurses and anesthesiologist to have access to your I.V. Your doctor may talk to you throughout the surgery if you ask him to. Or, you may choose to talk to your partner to keep you relaxed and wait for your baby's first cry.

Before your operation, believe that you can do it. As long as you keep yourself aware of how the actual process goes, everything is going to be fine.
