In this way, the man gets valuable advice without the need for a one-on-one session with the doctor which he might balk at.

There is also the money factor. Fertility treatments are costly. And aside from paying a steep price, the outcomes are not guaranteed. Most fertility centers would give a success rate of about 30%. And their take-home baby rate (or the rate in which successful implantation results to a successful pregnancy and delivery) is lower. In-vitro fertilization (IVF) carries a significant risk for spontaneous abortions.
