How Positive Thinking Works

By: Jordan Shannon

It is really hard now-a-days to locate somebody who has not found the concept of positive thinking or has not flipped through a book or two on the course of positive thinking. Almost every able person knows about the benefits of positive thinking. But how many of us are employing the positive thinking concept in our day to day life consistently?

It is not bizarre to buy a book on positive thinking, read it, get enthusiastic for a little while, and the jump right back into our normal style of thinking. Why do not we make positive thinking as our way of life? Is this process of thinking very hard to accept, or is it that our surroundings and individuals around us are so negative that it is nearly impossible for an person to become positive and stay so?

Really if you ponder about it, people really do not stick with this positive-thinking thing. Why? Mainly Because of two reasons.

They fail to understand the essence of the inner workings of positive thinking and apply it in a wrong way.

They expect fast outcomes and when people do not see any clear benefit with in a period of two to three days they loose attentiveness. And gradually their regular thought pattern returns back.

Eighty percent of the thoughts of a normal person are not positive. When we start thinking positively we just adjust to a new course of thought --which is a positive one-- with all our negative thoughts. “I’ll get the raise easily”. This is a conscious thought stream. But in the evening returning home from work we keep thinking unpositivly and how difficult it is going to be. This negative thought comes to our brain compulsorily (unconsciously). We process this thought with lots of negative emotion. And all these happen without our being conscious of what we are doing.

To liberate the full capability of positive thinking you have to arrest and kill negative thought spikes. It is not difficult and with practice it becomes easier.

Now the question remains how we can get quick results from our positive thinking efforts. To be honest their is no easy way to see results overnight. When used properly positive thinking has the power to do wonders in your life. The best thing to do is get started. After that stay immersed and the results will come.
