Bisphenol A (BPA) is a chemical substance known to be harmful to babies causing change in the hormone systems, heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Manufacturers were mandated by health organizations and advocates to stop the use of this chemical in manufacturing baby bottles because it has alarmed almost all mothers in the world. In response, the manufacturers have stopped using BPA in their production.

The issue on nursing bottle safety is the priority of almost anyone who views each child as an entity of value. Mothers, politicians, social reformists and even ordinary individuals would always conform to everything conceived to be child-friendly. In the case of the BPA use in baby bottles, some manufacturers did not actually eliminate BPA in their production yet ensured that utilized BPA corresponded to the standard “tolerable daily intake” (TDI). In a more vivid picture, a bottle fed baby may consume more than four full bottles of milk before he or she is able to reach the TDI.

Mothers worldwide have been grateful for this action from authorities and response from the manufacturers. You could just imagine how tedious feeding will be if baby bottles will be scraped off the market. Yet, there are others issues pertaining to baby bottle safety. Concerns on potential safety hazards arise in the advent of baby bottle and nipple use.

Nursing mothers must secure each feeding experience by working for every baby bottle safety. Baby bottles and nipples should be inspected before and after use. For baby bottles, you should make sure that the bottles are clear of any curdles at the bottom and especially on the rim above. These are threats to nursing bottle safety since curdles mixed with newly prepared milk mixture is dangerous to your child’s health. Make sure cleanliness is absolute in any part of the bottle.

Moreover, silicon nipples can be hazardous once they have acquired signs of wear and tear. Exposure to heat, food and other substance can cause holes and change in nipple textures. Any nipple displaying these signs should be discarded immediately. Nipples not intact may cause choking to the infant. Let these kinds of nipples go into waste. It is but wiser to buy another than risk your child’s health. Ensure your child’s safety all the time. It is not wrong to be practical but mothers should not compromise baby bottle safety for money.

There are many things mothers can do to avoid baby bottle hazards and ensure secuirty. For instance, mothers should never prop the bottle up to let the baby feed himself. Holding the baby during feeding will not only strengthen their bond but will also reduce chances of choking, ear infection and tooth decay. In addition, some feeding accessories should be given focus too. Pacifiers can harm infants once it lack ventilation holes and tied around the baby’s neck.

It is good for everybody to know that in today’s world; almost everyone serves as tandem for all mothers in working for the safety of each child. Nursing bottle safety is a worldwide concern.
